I was so saddened when I did a search and found nothing! How can such an amazing man have no stamp? Thank you very much for the comment. I love your signature by the way. :]

I guess even now he's a bit under-appreciated? Maybe, in a sad way, that's his appeal though. Maybe he appeals to other great artist who same the same respect and acknowledgment he did. I dunno, maybe I'm romanticizing. XD

X3 Thank you!

Romanticizing is wonderful! Continue to! I find him amazing and I wish his art would get more credit. I suppose the film Moulin Rouge did open him up a little to people but most don't know his character is based off a real person anyway. -Sigh-

Well, I bought Moulin Rouge which generally made me begin to find him interesting--I was interested in the character's sadder moments and knew he WAS based of someone who once lived. And when I bought Moulin Rouge it came with a movie totally devoted to the real Toulouse. I have yet to watch it but base don what I've read, it's going to be a tear-jerker. His love life... he struggled so much to find love and just never got it.
My heart goes out to him. He was lonely, unappreciated and apparently didn't have a good family either. I read somewhere one of the final things he said was cursing his father.

SO really, I had to add this stamp to my collection... I don't know how it could be done but I wish people would become more aware of him. His actual life was so terrible and his art has such emotion put into it... he deserves the chance to live on as someone bigger than he ever had the chance to be.

Moulin Rouge really was a wonderful movie. There aren't many scenes with Toulouse but one of the saddest I think is when he watches the two main characters from afar kissing and says the famous, "the greatest thing you'll ever learn" line. Yes, I read that as well.

Yes, yes. We must spread the word of Toulouse! In fact I'm going to add Moulin Rouge into the tags. He's inspired me to try different forms of drawing, medium and color schemes. Oh, also if you haven't scene his painting, Kissing in the Bed (I think that's what it's called) ([link]) I think that's where they got the idea of the appearances for the two main characters for Moulin Rouge.

My favorite scenes with him were when he was drunk and singing "how wonderful life is now you're in the world", when he told Christian not to give up on love because it was the one thing he yearned for and Christian was lucky was lucky to have that chance, and in the end where, as you said, he screamed his line to save their love.

That's a good idea! I hope it helps--I'm sure at least a few more people will see this and really look! I'll try to put the word out more myself... maybe buy trying his art style? Show what an inspiration he is? I'll have to give it a shot...
This is one I haven't seen! It looks like Satine and Christian from "Come What May". It's so beautiful... the people, the scene, the lighting... they're beautiful. He's so amazing. :happycry:

He really is. I just got a wonderful idea to draw a can-can dancer but I can't find a good stock to help me out (I have trouble with poses). Hopefully I can finish it soon.
